The AAAA of New York, Inc.
obtained its Certificate of Incorporation, pursuant to the
Membership Corporations Law of the State of New York, on March
8, 1950.
THE PURPOSES FOR WHICH THIS
ASSOCIATION WAS FORMED ARE LISTED ON THE CERTIFICATE OF
INCORPORATION AND ARE SUMMARIZED HERE AS FOLLOWS:
(a) To maintain and
promote interest in the American Academy of Larnaca, Cyprus, and
to cultivate social intercourse and fellowship
among its former students and teachers, and friends, in the United
States of America.
(b) To assist and promote
voluntarily the interests and purposes of the American Academy.
(c) To assist voluntarily the American Academy in connection
with its Building Program.
(d) To establish scholarships
at the American Academy for poor but promising boys and girls
of the island of Cyprus, and to award prizes to students of the
American Academy for outstanding scholarship and sportsmanship
according to the By-laws of the AAAA of New York, Inc.
